課程概述 |
新材料與新方法的使用,經常帶來歷史研究的突破。歷史研究的材料除了傳世文獻之外,還包括來自過去的文物或遺跡;材料有別,適用的研究方法不同,能夠回答的問題也有異。本課程從墓葬與出土文物出發,討論中國歷史上的分裂時期——遼、宋、金——之社會與文化。
近百年的現代考古,已經揭露數量十分龐大的墓葬與各式遺址。比起前代,遼、宋、金的墓葬規模普遍縮小,但由於數量龐大,若能對墓葬進行有系統的分析,除了認識過去的「地下社會」,也能進一步解決社會史與文化史的問題。舉例來說,分析墓地的殉埋禮制可讓我們了解社會身份如何劃分,而比較各地殉埋習俗的異同則可探討人群的信仰與互動。此外,墓葬中多樣的出土品,涵蓋各種材質,它們提供具體線索,探討工藝傳統、作坊組織、消費贊助、象徵與意義等物質文化問題,並可能從中剖析出人群的思想與心態。
在此分裂時期,隨著遼、宋、西夏、金等政權之間的或戰或和,政治疆界也展生變動,有時引起大規模的人群移動。若能有系統地進行長時段、跨地域的比較與分析,將能探討人群移動與互動所帶來的影響,對此時期的社會與文化有更深刻而具體的掌握。

課程目標 |
透過一手考古報告的研讀,與二手研究的討論,讓同學熟悉各類墓葬與出土材料,並能掌握重要研究課題,以培養修課同學運用考古材料的能力。 |
課程要求 |
1. 課堂參與:每週上課前閱讀當周資料,輪流撰寫指定閱讀的摘要與評論,參與課堂討論與口頭報告。
2. 期中作業:期中作業有二,第十一週繳交墓誌作業,第十三週繳交期末報告書目,10條左右,需簡述各書目之要點。
3. 期末報告:十四至十六週進行口頭報告與討論,十八週繳交書面報告,8000-10000字。
